New Ross Boat Yard, New Ross, Co. Wexford

Excellent opportunity to acquire a privately owned commercial boat yard in the south east of Ireland with a large 70 x 15 metre dry dock

Dublin, 26 October 2017 – CBRE and Palmer Auctioneers have been instructed to handle the sale of New Ross Boat Yard.

The New Ross Boat Yard comprises a total site area of approximately 1.62 hectares (4 acres) and has a shoreline of 230 metres to the west of the River Barrow and provides excellent access to the Three Sisters (Barrow, Nore and Suir) and the south east coast by water and road network.

There is a large dry dock to the south of the property that occupies a site area of 0.3 acres and has a width of 15 metres and a length of 70 metres and can service very large commercial fishing boats and ferries including the Dunbrody Famine Ship and Passage Ferry

There is full planning permission in place to cover the dry dock and generate additional turnover from carrying out all weather work on large commercial boats. We have been informed that this dock is 1 of 3 operational dry docks in the Republic of Ireland that can accommodate large commercial boats and is the primary source of income for the boat yard. I

In addition to the dry dock, there is also a 50 tonne Marine Travel Lift that has its own purpose built lifting basis, it can transport boats to storage around the site or to the indoor work shed. We understand that the boat yard can store up to 150 boats on site in the winter months.

The New Ross Boat Yard has a turnover of €840,000 p.a. and CBRE/ Palmer Auctioneers are quoting a sales price of €4 million for this operating boat yard.
