Kings Hall Health & Wellbeing Park Release Occupier Opportunity Sites

BELFAST, 05 October 2016 - The developers behind the new development proposals for King’s Hall Health and Wellbeing Park, a joint venture between Benmore Healthcare Developments and Octopus Healthcare, have appointed CBRE to seek potential operators for the Hotel site and care for older people accommodation.

On completion, the King’s Hall will be completely restored and brought back to its former glory as one of Belfast’s best known Art Deco buildings. It is intended that proposed uses at the King’s Hall Health & Wellbeing Park could include a Primary Care Hub to be developed in the former King’s Hall building, with health related retail to include pharmacy, optician, dental and audiology.

The balance of the site will include a Hotel, care for older people and a central plaza building with multi-storey car park commercial units to include gym, crèche, restaurants and cafes, with access onto a landscaped public area.

The Hotel site offers operators the opportunity to secure representation immediately adjacent to the King’s Hall on a highly prominent site fronting Lisburn Road. Expressions of interest are being sought from hoteliers on a franchise, management agreement or design & build basis.

Robert Ditty, Senior Director, Capital Markets
“The development proposed by Benmore is an extremely exciting and rare opportunity for Northern Ireland and Belfast in particular. The hotel and care home sites respectively represent great occupier opportunities. Each site can be tailored to suit differing occupier requirements.

This whole scheme is totally unique to Northern Ireland and has been created to meet the strong demand for a dedicated Health & Wellbeing Village. The hotel in particular will have a significant pipeline of guests, resulting from the core healthcare business on this site.

David Burrows, on behalf of Benmore Healthcare Developments/Octopus Healthcare added:

“This development as a whole will be seen as revolutionary in Northern Ireland; it is something that has not been developed before and as such we expect to see a lot of interest from a diverse range of individuals and companies. Belfast has witnessed increasing levels of tourism and we feel that the King’s Hall site is well positioned to capitalise on continued tourism and business growth.

“The location is an ideal area for residents or indeed visiting relatives in terms of commuting to key parts of Belfast and Northern Ireland. It has direct access to the M1 Motorway, Balmoral Railway Station, and the City Centre along with Titanic Belfast and George Best City Airport being merely 15-20-minute drive away.”

The King’s Hall Health and Wellbeing Park proposals were first announced in March this year, and two onsite public consultation events where held in May and June. Further discussion with residents is planned before submission of outline and detailed planning applications to Belfast City Council.
