Retailer Brings Extra Sparkle to Castlecourt

Shopping Centre selected by the jeweller for first NI store

Belfast, 09 February 2015 – Jewelry retailer Warren James is set to expand into Northern Ireland with its first store at CastleCourt shopping centre according to commercial property firm CBRE.

Completion of the letting for the space at CastleCourt has been negotiated by CBRE with Warren James, represented by Murphy Chartered Surveyors, taking a new 10-year lease.

The jewellery specialist which was established in 1979 has 145 stores throughout the UK, with over 2 million customers annually. The brands ethos is based on offering the best jewellery at half the price. It is planned that the city centre store will be the first of three new stores for Warren James in Northern Ireland for 2015.

There was significant movement in the retail sector in Belfast in 2014, with a number of well-known retailers taking up prominent units in the city, resulting in a positive retail outlook for 2015.

Alana Coyle, Head of Retail at CBRE in Belfast welcomed the news that follows a number of other recent new entrants to the scheme:

“The arrival of this store is another example of the retail sector in NI showing improvement. Warren James is a great addition to our expanding portfolio of strong retail tenants in the centre including recent acquisitions Simply Be, Jacamo, Taking Shape and Toys ‘R’ Us.

“CBRE is focused on bringing new retailers to CastleCourt who reflect the needs of their customers and Warren James is an ideal complement to the existing portfolio of over 80 well-known retailers and 10 eateries currently at the centre. The established retail location and high footfall have made the shopping centre a superb destination for retailers looking to establish themselves in Northern Ireland.”

Eamonn Murphy of Murphy Chartered Surveyors, leading tenant advisor in Northern Ireland said: “Our client has been looking at the Northern Ireland market for over a decade. They have decided now is a good time to expand into this part of the UK and believe the Northern Ireland customer is looking for the Warren James experience when it comes to jewellery shopping. Our client is looking for further stores in NI and they already have a further store agreed.”
